  • We have a casual position in our garden centre available for a horticulturalist or someone that has a very broad knowledge of plants.

    If you have worked in a retail garden centre and would like to work with us give us a call.

    The horticulturalist position would ideally need to be able to work at least two saturdays a month and a sunday

    This position will include:

    Sales - advising our customers on the correct plant and care for their garden and helping them to create beautiful gardens.

    Point of sale- using a retail computer program. We can train you in this area.

    Display initiative and self-motivation.

    Be punctual, reliable, and presentable.

    Must Love plants and people.

    Experience in a nursery situation and plant knowledge is a must.

    The successful person must have;

  • Experience in a retail Garden Centre

  • Strong communication skills

  • Have a hands-on approach to your work

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work on your own as well as within the team

  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, solving customers gardening problems and be able to identify plants. Must have extensive plant knowledge

  • Have a high attention to detail

  • A full drivers license


    Duties will include;

  • Serving customers

  • Unloading pot and plant deliveries - pricing and placing in displays 

  • Heavy lifting may be involved

JUNIOR REQUIRED.

We are also looking for a junior to work saturdays. Duties will include watering, tidying and making coffee.

Barista coffee making is essential, so you must have experience. We will train you in all other aspects of this position.
